Pre-use Verification and Load Safety Audits
Falls from height are the largest single contributor to workplace fatalities in heavy industries. A scaffolding structure must be completely stable, anchored, and correctly set up to handle active crews, storage materials, and wind loads.
Smart Inspection & Certification provides qualified inspectors to review scaffold systems. We check the structural arrangement, the base soil and sole-board integrity, tie spacing, ledger connections, and guardrail heights. We then issue legal scaffolding register reports.
Green Tagging System
Safe to Use: Structure is complete, anchored, and matches drawing safety specs.
Under Modification: Do not use. Structural adjustments or repairs in progress.
Unsafe for Use: Structure has failed safety check, lacks ties, or shows component fatigue.
Required Inspection Lifecycles
Under BS EN 12811 and OSHA standards, scaffolding must be inspected at distinct milestones:
Pre-Erection
Inspection of foundations, base plates, sole boards, and material certification.
Post-Assembly
Visual and structural check before the initial Handover Certificate is signed.
Weekly Audit
Mandatory structural inspection every 7 days or after adverse weather.
Modification
Complete re-audit if any structural members or ties are altered.

Modular / System Scaffolds
Auditing of ledger ends, rose connectors, wedge pins, diagonal bracing, board transoms, and vertical alignment checks.
Mobile Tower Scaffolds
Inspection of lockable castor wheels, internal ladders, guardrail protection, stabilizer legs, and maximum height-to-base ratios.
Scaffold Boards & Underlay
Visual audits for splitting, wood rot, decay, knots, metal band integrity, and loading capacity classification.
Ties and Anchor Pull-out Tests
On-site testing of anchors embedded in concrete or masonry walls to ensure tie strength matches the structural calculation requirements.
